Her Sweetest Downfall is a sweet short introduction to this series. although some part felt a little tight and cramped with all the explaining about the types of paranormal beings that exist in this series. To many to name and way to many for me to even repeat one, or even know how to write the difficult names of the species even tho I just finished this book yesterday.
It almost felt like Rebecca tried to explain the whole scenario before the readers begin the first book of this series and was checking off a list with the families, names and paranormal beings she liked to mention in this Novella.
I also had a little trouble with the main character. Although I liked her and the story and world building are phenomenal I still had problems with determining the age of Ophelia. First I thought she was a teen (virgin maybe, immature behavior about keeping her mark secret) but after meeting Ethan she didn’t hesitate to jump in bed with him. But with all the talk about her mother and murder of her father I found it a little confusing.
But I think we will soon find it out with the first book of the Forever Girl series.
This book is in an alternate Regency England, “”Her Sweetest Downfall”” is a standalone novella in the “”Forever Girl”” series, written as a gift to fans of the Forever Girl series.
